This series of posts is dedicated to famous notebooks that, in one way or another,
have left a mark on History. You can see more of this series in: Famous notebooks.
Frida Kahlo (1907-1954), the great Mexican artist, kept a diary during her last ten years. While his entire life was not easy, those last years were especially hard. His relationship with Diego Rivera and the aggravation of his own physical state are two of the many themes that appear in these notebooks, along with poems, puns, messages (almost screams occasionally).
Above all, these notebooks were a space for creative deployment and exploration for the artist, who never ceased to express in her pages her particular vision of reality. His diaries are an explosion of colors and shapes, strong lines, broken figures, sketches that could end or not become pictures ...
Sometimes clear, shiny, friendly to the eye; sometimes, on the contrary, dark, twisted, painful; on these pages you can feel all the creative energy, love and suffering that gripped the soul of the brave Frida.
And you, have you ever kept a journal? Besides writing, do you like to draw or paint on it? Among our sketchbooks we have one in particular, bound in Coptic style, with 32 pages of watercolor paper (200g), ideal for keeping a creative journal in which to combine texts with drawings and let your imagination fly. Find all about it!
