Almiqui's Notebooks: art by hand
A brief history of books: The binding was born much before the printing, in order to preserve human thinking for posterity. The ancient Greeks already had their primitive forms of binding, although the Coptic binding, one of those we use in our workshop, has its origins in the Coptic peoples of ancient Egypt, back in the first century AD.
The bound texts soon became valuable goods, and although it is not known exactly when the covers of the books began to be decorated, the truth is that since the Byzantine period (4th to 7th centuries) the beauty of these decorations has been an added value to the texts. Towards the end of the 19th century, the modernist movement gave wings to the covers decoration, turning the books into beautiful pieces of art.
Our notebooks from El Almiquí Verde seek to take some of this history into your hands, fusing the art of bookbinding with that of painting to achieve unique and original notebooks, with which you'll have the best experience. That is why our motto is "art by hand". Explore our products, discover all the designs we offer, and contact us.
